Job or Campus Folder Chemical Engineering Technology Specialist

Job Description The Chemical Engineering Technology Specialist fulfills a global and/or regional technical consulting role supporting multiple R&D projects as well as manufacturing facilities. The Chemical Engineering Technology Specialist uses knowledge of the engineering fundamentals to provide technical leadership and in-depth solutions for projects of varying duration involving reaction engineering, fluid mechanics, separations, and new process development.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

* Lead and participate in multi-discipline teams to develop technical solutions to address business needs
* Conduct research to deliver technology advantages to refinery and chemical plant operations in the areas of energy, margin, safety, and reliability
* Provide technical leadership through involvement in formal technical networks and work groups
* Assist research laboratories in design and operation of experimental apparatus
* Develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines
* Assist manufacturing sites in the application of new technology
* Support capital projects in the areas of design consulting and technical quality assurance



Technical Knowledge & Skills:

* Reaction kinetics - experimental determination and modeling
* Reactor engineering design - hardware internals for fixed and/or fluid bed
* Fluid dynamics - single and multiphase flows and/or experience with CFD modeling
* Thermodynamics
* New process design and scale-up
