Responsibilities:
· The role will be responsible for developing the strategy and executing projects to deliver all promotional activities and the web presence of Shell Energy North America (SENA)
· This role's emphasis is on maximizing the effectiveness of the marketing budget and creating actionable leads for the sales teams that have bottom line impact that can benefit the business
· The Manager (with guidance and support from the Director) will need to integrate SENA’s competitive positioning, brand strategy and campaign tactics into all web tools
· The role also supports Director of Strategic Marketing in all aspects of that role and is expected to contribute to the strategy and planning around the strategic marketing process
· Drive a leading edge web presence for SENA by incorporating all aspects of brand management and architecture along with improved tools that deliver what our customers value in online delivery; this will include a long term strategy and implementation plan, annual budget and KPIs to address all focus areas: corporate and people, market segment (CIA - Commercial/Industrial & Aggregators, Utilities, Producers and to a lesser extent Business Development), product (gas, power, environmental and risk products)
· This represents a step change initiative within SENA that will likely require several years to achieve. With guidance from the Director of Strategic Marketing, this position will need to research industry practices, prioritize of potential initiatives, set aggressive goals for implementation, work with Director of Strategic Marketing to communicate to senior leadership and provide updates on success/challenges/risks to delivery
· Lead all web projects (both proprietary customer sight and Shell.com). It is anticipated that both web platforms will be substantially upgraded in the coming 12-18 months. This position will lead these projects from scoping/budgeting through prioritization, implementation and testing - ensuring coordination with Sales via Director - Sales Support Processes, senior leadership, communications, Public Affairs and others as required
· Execute all tactical projects to ensure company, segment, and product CVPs (Customer Value Propositions) and brand strategies are effectively translated into speeches, presentations, ads, posters and trade-show materials
· Establish scorecard and relevant metrics for all activities
Support Strategic Marketing Director in the annual sales and service plan process with a specific focus on detailed scope, timing and estimated cost of the web-oriented projects to be conducted during the year
Special Challenges:
- Delivering a step change in brand management for SENA with quantifiable results
- Discerning where certain marketing and web support tools can aid the pursuit of competitive opportunities or mitigate threats
- Creating a tangible vision of SENA’s sales capabilities via the web and other marketing mediums
Requirements:
* ·Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
* Requires five to seven years of professional experience in interactive web communications /new media, branding, campaign management, creative agency service and/or front-line sales
* At least two years experience in interactive web communications required. Some experience managing creative agencies and media buying / contracting required; three years preferred
* Experience in the energy industry, financial services sector or trading a plus
* Requires extremely high written and visual communication skills with ability to effectively communicate complex ideas in simple, visually appealing ways through a variety of media. Attention to detail a must. Understanding of web programming strongly preferred
* Requires demonstrated project management discipline with strong task orientation and some experience managing a team
* Preference for persuasive communication and change management skills
* Requires strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relations at multiple levels across SENA. Prefer some experience at managing interfaces with other Shell and affiliated businesses
* Bachelor's degree or higher required
