Shell Oil Company is currently seeking a Process Engineer-Distillation, GSUSI/GSDP for its Houston, Texas location.
Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for providing technical advice on optimal operation of separation facilities, through troubleshooting, monitoring, modeling and evaluation of plant performance; participating in work acquisition activities; executing process studies in support of projects in Shell or JV refineries and gas plants as well as licensing bids; making process designs for revamps and new units; making designs of distillation internals and separation devices; giving technical support in later project stages; participating in technical audits, safety audits, energy reduction and margin improvement visit; designing and rating vertical and horizontal vessels; providing technical support for PDVSA refineries; providing technical support for turnaround in Shell's Texas Refinery and Sewaren Terminal; participating in the development and maintenance of in-house tools and documents; and adhering to quality standards.
Requirements:
To be considered for this position, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering, plus 5 years progressively responsible experience in performing optimization and troubleshooting of a wide range of Distillation & Separation systems ; performing process scouting and process design studies for distillation revamps and new construction projects on a wide range of refinery and chemical systems; and utilizing computer thermodynamic simulation of Distillation & Separation systems in a wide range of refinery and chemical plant process units.
