Within the Bitumen business, the Technical Services team looks at technical issues that either affect the global bitumen business, such as provision of Technical Service/budgets/Product Stewardship, or they transfer technology and knowledge from one location to another.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare presentation materials and conduct SEAM training for licensee and distributor asphalt plant management and staff and paving crews;
* Prepare presentation materials and conduct SEAM product knowledge and application training for Shell Bitumen/SSS in-country marketing management and staff;
* Assist Shell Bitumen’s marketing groups with their preparation of short-term and long-term market plans from a technical perspective;
* Inspect prospective licensee/distributor asphalt mix plants to certify equipment for SEAM mix production; advise on necessary plant modifications for safe handling of SEAM;
* Provide technical advice to field laboratory professional staff and engineering design staff on SEAM mix design and SEAM properties and performance testing;
* Supervise SEAM field paving tests and initial commercial applications;
* Lead SEAM asphalt mix trials;
* Prepare proposals for consideration for the SEAM R&D program;
* Contribute ideas for new business opportunities to SEAM sales teams;
* Contribute ideas for new SEAM IP;
* Conduct/arrange pavement inspection services/trouble shooting as required.
Requirements:
* Readiness to travel extensively in India and to project sites/remote locations;
* A graduate in a construction related technical discipline;
* 5-10 years experience in technical service/design within asphalt mix production and paving companies;
* Experience in carrying out laboratory tests and mix designs and able to interpret the results;
* Experience in conducting technical training;
* Project management experience;
* Established track record of delivering results;
* Authorisation to work in India is required for this position;
