Database Administrator
Responsibilities:
The Database Administrator is a contributing member of the Global Database Management Services Team.
The Database Administrator may be responsible for:
* Providing Oracle database administration, application tuning, database security and production
* Supporting the Global Database Management Services group
* Installing, upgrading and maintaining of the Oracle databases
* Planning and executing of database backup and recovery
* Providing database tuning for performance and stability
* Managing physical database design and implementation, database security implementation and monitoring
* This position participates in an on-call rotation with other DBA's to provide 24X7 coverage.
Qualifications
Basic:
* Legally authorized to work in the United States
* High School Diploma/GED
* Three years of direct DBA experience working with Oracle
* Five years of direct IT experience providing server support, database support or application programming
* Expert diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem solving for Oracle.
* Ability and willingness to perform tasks outside normal business hours and on weekends as well as carry an on call pager for at least one week every 6 to 8 weeks
Preferred:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other IT/IS related major.
* Ability to work effectively across time zones and geography
* Applications support experience
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
